What science does; what it teaches; and where it can escort human life? These are few questions, which needs to be answered. Science governs every aspect of life. Though, once in a blue moon, we think about it, but, science makes unexpected things achievable. Place of science in society, is not to unveil quietly at the sidelines but to emerge as an essential component of the game. It is the time when science must connect with us, and we must connect with science. The rapid scientific development has increased public's concern to recognize the role that science and technology play in daily life. But, science cannot progress in seclusion and at the same time the advancement in science is not a purpose in its own right. There is need of creating a window for exchange of ideas of mutual respect & trust between scientific community and society. Kalp wishes to establish a link between science & society, understand the ethics in science and mutual control of science and society. Kalp will create a broad forum for research and debate of key issues, including the social and cultural status of science; challenges and prospects regarding the science and society; varying roles of society in decision-making and input toward scientific development. Linking raw technologies through modern technological interventions to convert those into efficient owned systems is the one of the major thrusts of Kalp.
